Begin Again Treatment Services
Begin Again Treatment Services (BATS):
- An intensive community-based service for adults needing ASAM II.1 level of services provided by Insight Human Services.
- Provides Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP) 9 hours per week for 12 weeks.
- Transportation and housing services are available as needed.
- Travel between SAIOP treatment appointments and other medical services will be provided by BATS.
- Men and women will maintain separate living quarters.
- Temporary housing dedicated to women with small children can be made available.
- Priority admission is available for persons returning to the community from state hospitals, detoxification programs and other institutions, including prison.
- Persons at risk of placement in those facilities are a second priority population.
- Typically persons will be in the BATS program up to 90 days (3 months), with aftercare plans for future treatment options and person-centered, natural supports.
- Primarily located in Winston-Salem, additional services will be available in Wentworth and other communities.

Cost for the program:
- The program is funded in part by a Cross Area Service Program (CASP) grant from the NC Department of Health and Human Services.
- A sliding fee scale for treatment and housing services has been established for persons not eligible for grant funding.
