Adolescent Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient Program (SAIOP)
Insight Human Services recently began offering an Intensive Outpatient substance abuse program for adolescents. This is intended to fill a gap in services between standard outpatient and a residential treatment program.
AIOP would be appropriate for adolescents age 13-18 for whom outpatient services have not been successful or who are being discharged from a residential treatment.
Sessions are held Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Insight Human Services office building. Adolescents attend group on Monday and Friday. Wednesday’s group is a multi-family group for the participants in AIOP and their families.
Evidence-based treatment including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive-Behavioral Treatment, and 12-step treatment philosophy are combined for the benefit of the adolescent and family. The intention of this therapeutic model is to help the adolescent find their own motivation to make changes in his or her life, then to develop the skills and resources to be successful with the changes.
